All Is Set for OyoKopa Business and Career Conference This Week

The organisers of the OyoKopa Business and Career Conference (OKBCC) have confirmed that the second edition of their flagship event will hold from Wednesday, 19 June to Thursday, 20 June 2025, at the International Conference Centre, Ibadan. Positioned as one of Nigeria’s largest career and entrepreneurship gatherings for youth, OKBCC 2.0 is expected to attract over 10,000 Corps Members, entrepreneurs, recruiters, and thought leaders for two days of learning, networking, mentorship, and access to funding.

Following the success of its debut edition in 2023 — which drew over 6,000 attendees and featured brands like Termii, Noones, Seven-Up Bottling Company, and Traddify — this year’s conference is aiming even higher. OKBCC is convened by Ojelola John (Organising Lead), Joseph Titiloye (Partnership Lead), and Chineke Justus (Communication and Marketing Lead), in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The initiative is designed to empower Nigeria’s next generation of professionals with practical skills and career-building opportunities.

The 2025 edition will feature a robust programme that includes interactive workshops in technology, business development, Web3, and the creative industries. Attendees will also benefit from pitch competitions, career development sessions, internship opportunities, and startup funding access. A strong emphasis will be placed on digital skill-building, with support from both local and international partners.

The speaker lineup reflects the ambition of the event, featuring influential voices from tech, law, communications, and public service. Confirmed speakers and facilitators include:

  • Senator Ihenyen, Lead Partner at Infusion Lawyers
  • Davizoe Effiong, Founder, BEI Consultancy Limited & SmartGames
  • Jude Ozinegbe, Founder, Cyberchain
  • Eseoghene Benjamin Osbourne, CEO, Roqqu
  • Richard Afolabi, Co-founder, BekkahAI
  • Ronke Giwa, Communications and Media Professional
  • Chimezie Chuta, Coordinator, Blockchain Nigeria User Group
  • Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Oyo State

Speaking on the vision for this year’s event, Ojelola John stated:

“OKBCC is more than just a conference—it’s a launchpad for thousands of young Nigerians looking to build careers and businesses that matter. Our goal is to help them bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity, by connecting them with knowledge, networks, and resources that can power their future.”

The impact of the first edition was significant, with organisers reporting 15,000+ mobile app downloads through brand activations, ₦1 million in business grants awarded, and ₦150 million worth of scholarships distributed to over 1,000 beneficiaries. Since then, the OyoKopa network has expanded through regional meetups and continues to position itself as a leading youth empowerment movement nationwide.

With the 2025 edition just days away, the organising team is calling on brands, development partners, and recruiters to join the conference as sponsors or partners. Benefits include brand visibility, direct access to young professionals, and the opportunity to lead branded sessions or co-create recruitment and training pipelines. Interested organisations are advised to confirm participation by 1 June 2025 to take full advantage of pre-event publicity.
