New Fintech App Combines Remittance and USD Virtual Card for Africans

In a move to redefine cross-border financial access across the continent, Bamboo has launched Misan by Bamboo — a fintech product designed to combine remittance and virtual USD card capabilities for users across 15 African countries.

Misan is built to solve some of Africa’s most persistent financial barriers: high remittance costs, limited global access, and fragmented payment systems. With Misan, users can now send money across borders and shop online globally using a secure, instantly issued virtual USD card.

“We built Misan by Bamboo because we believe everyone deserves simple and clear ways to manage their money, no matter where they are,” said Yanmo Omorogbe, Co-founder of Bamboo.

Available in countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Cameroon, and Senegal, Misan supports regional financial integration by allowing seamless money transfers across a growing list of 15 African nations.

In addition to remittance, the app’s virtual USD card can be used for international shopping, subscription services like Netflix and Spotify, tuition payments, global travel bookings, and more — empowering users with full control of their spending.

“Misan by Bamboo is built to provide just that,” Omorogbe added. “It’s about giving our users powerful tools, like our new virtual USD cards, so they can use their money exactly how and when they need to, making their financial lives smoother and more connected across Africa’s diverse economies.”

The product also promises transparency, with no hidden charges and competitive exchange rates, making it attractive to freelancers, students, and small businesses managing international payments.

Misan by Bamboo is a product of Internode Pay Limited, a subsidiary of Bamboo Global Inc, incorporated in Canada and registered with FINTRAC as a Money Services Business.
